My name is Avishek Nag.
I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin. Previously I was a Research Fellow at the CONNECT Centre for Future Networks and Communications affiliated to Trinity College Dublin. I still work together on challenging problems in telecommunication networks with my colleagues at CONNECT.
My research interests are in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Cross-layer optimisation in Wired and Wireless Networks, Network Reliability, Energy-efficient networking, Network Virtualisation, Software-Defined Networks, Machine Learning, Data Analytics.
I completed my PhD in 2012 from the networks research lab at the University of California Davis, under Professor Biswanath Mukherjee. I received my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) (honours) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2005, and the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 2007.
